Our gracious host, Loyola-Blakefiled, will go into corona-shutdown mode on 3/15. That means until April 3, 2020, none of our carefully developed safety policies will be necessary, as the venue will be closed:
No fencing classes or lessons until April!
We will alert our members if we decide to organize properly social-isolation open-air work-out meets at a different location. After all, Coach Chris has been ordered to stay out of the office until April 6, and as of next Monday probably won’t know what to do with all the free time.
So stay tuned to this website and our Facebook groups!
Meanwhile, see you at Knott Hall’s performance gym tonight!

Until we are told to “shelter in place”… under the dining room table… wearing aluminum foil headwear…
OR, alternatively,
Loyola Blakefield decides to extend spring break until summer…
…BMFA fencing classes and open bouting are happening as scheduled.
Please pay attention to the notifications send out by Ms. Cross: We may me relocated from Wheeler Hall to the Performance Gym on the shortest of notices.
Extra credit: Whoever provides an adequate translation of the above image’s text gets a free electric foil.
Whoever provides a less-than-adequate translation also gets a free electric foil!

Ages: 6-12
Starting Dates: March 4, April 1 (NO FOOLING!), May 6, 2020
Requirements: Come as you are! (Bring long sweatpants and a water bottle!)
Rather than keeping prospective young fencers pining for two whole months if distracted parents miss the sign-up for the previous 8-week introductory class, BMFA now has a rolling sign-up where “new” kids can start every month!
Stop buy to visit our regular youth classes at 6:30PM every Tuesday and Friday (just to see more experienced kids), or be our guest every Wednesday at 5:30PM just to get a feel for what this is all about. (Just let Coach Chris know before, so we can have enough gear at hand if the locating is changed to one of the Knott Hall gyms on short notice.)
We still have open slots for March, and you can sign up right here!

Knee-joints rejoice, on 2/21, wer’e back again at the four-court gym!

Bring your best game to the Performance Gym in Knott Hall on Valentine’s Day afternoon and evening!
We’ve been ousted from Wheeler Hall for the night due to gangly youths dancing at our usual venue.
The upside: Wooden floors!

Due to exams, fencing classes will take place at the Performance Gym in Knott Hall again!
